Where Is Safety Relocator Authority Required?

Safety Relocator Registration is mandated in specific Illinois counties. If you operate a towing or relocation business in one of the following counties, you must hold a valid certificate issued by the Illinois Commerce Commission:

  • ✔ Cook County
  • ✔ DuPage County
  • ✔ Kane County
  • ✔ Will County
  • ✔ Winnebago County

These counties either exceed a population threshold or have adopted specific state statutes requiring Safety Relocator registration. Local ordinances may also apply.
